The Wastewater Treatment Facility O&M Technician participates in daily operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Facility under the direction of the Plant Manager and Lead O&M Technician. This position is located at the New Wright City South WWTF, which uses a highly automated 4-stage Bardenpho Biological Nutrient Removal process with Side Stream Reactor for phosphorus removal. This role offers upward mobility and a path for career growth in the wastewater field.

What

will you be doing?
  • Monitor wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment manually and via SCADA automation, adjusting as necessary to control operations.
  • Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
  • Perform general maintenance duties of the plant and other assigned tasks.
  • Monitor operations of a highly automated wastewater treatment facility and its auxiliary systems.
  • Sample, measure, and test plant values such as pH, temperature, solids concentration, levels, and related parameters; make corrections, collect required samples for on-site and off-site analysis.
  • Test, monitor, record, evaluate, troubleshoot, and adjust the operation of the plant emergency generator and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Work around high voltage and rotating equipment.
  • Perform related work as required.
Schedule
  • Monday – Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm. Flexibility and extended shifts to meet demands of the wastewater system. Reliable attendance is essential. Availability for standby duty and the ability to be on-call, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Response to emergency events and alarm callouts as scheduled.
  • On Call:
    On-call incentives of $200 for the week on rotation. Compensation for being on call includes a 2-hour minimum paid for each call-out.
What you need to succeed
  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
  • Valid Missouri Driver's License required; CDL preferred.
  • Willing to obtain a State of Missouri Class “C” Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license; 1–2 years.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, and to follow safety procedures.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical, and drug screen before employment.

$27 - $35 an hour. Depending on qualifications and experience. Annual project bonuses and annual safety bonuses are awarded each year.
