The position also drives continuous improvement in tool room processes, inventory accuracy, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the effective execution of the tool check‑in/check‑out process supporting maintenance and operations. Technicians perform the transactional activities across all shifts; this role provides oversight, ensures compliance, and verifies documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool issuance, custody, return dates, and status.
  • Track lost, damaged, or missing tools and initiate follow‑up actions, reporting, and corrective measures.
  • Enforce tool room policies, accountability standards, and return timelines.
  • Maintain real‑time inventory of all tools, specialty equipment, and specialty PPE.
  • Conduct routine physical inventories, cycle counts, and audits.
  • Identify low‑stock, obsolete, or underutilized tools and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Maintain tool identification through tagging, engraving, barcoding, or RFID as applicable.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports including tools currently checked out, overdue items, damaged or lost tools, and calibration due or overdue status.
  • Provide visibility and reporting to Maintenance, Reliability, and site leadership.
  • Support data collection for cost tracking, loss trend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track, maintain, and coordinate calibration schedules with on‑site resources or external vendors.
  • Ensure no expired or out‑of‑calibration tools are available for use.
  • Submit requisitions for new tools, replacements, repairs, or refurbishments.
  • Support cost‑reduction initiatives through repair‑versus‑replace analysis, vendor standardization, and elimination of duplicate or low‑use tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and clearly labeled tool room in accordance with site and safety standards.
  • Identify and assist with implementation of improvements such as digital tool‑tracking systems, standardized tool kits, and process standardization.
Experience and Skills
  • Experience in a maintenance warehouse, tool crib, or industrial tool room environment, preferably supporting LNG or large‑scale industrial operations.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency using CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo or SAP), Microsoft Excel, or other inventory management systems.
  • Working knowledge of calibration requirements and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work with minimal direction, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
