The material expediter position compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite the movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.

• Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine the type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
• Confere with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and inform supervisors of material status.
• Direct warehouse staff to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.
• Examine material received, verify parts numbers, and check discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.
• Compare work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment.

• Minimum 4 years of experience.
