Field Service Engineer Canada, Toronto or Montreal
As a Field Service Engineer at JBT Marel, your primary responsibility is to provide customer support for installed systems and new installations. You will develop skills in testing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging electro‑mechanical equipment and computer systems.
Location:
Canada (Greater Toronto or Montreal area). Full‑time travel position (85%). Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and the United States.
- Ensure the JBT Marel experience matches the company promise of superior performance, service, and quality.
- Work closely with customer management, supervisors, and other stakeholders to maintain outstanding communication.
- Diagnose, repair, and calibrate electrical, pneumatic, embedded controllers, servo systems, and other high‑technology food‑processing equipment.
- Complete on‑site evaluations, install machine enhancements, and test parts to meet tolerances and product specifications.
- Perform break‑fix service for high‑technology food‑processing equipment.
- At least two years of technical trade or equivalent experience.
- Hands‑on experience with troubleshooting, installing, and repairing electrical/pneumatic/embedded controllers and industrial machines.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools to maintain equipment.
- Understanding of electrical components and current flow to identify and troubleshoot issues.
- Preferable background in controls or mechatronics.
- Knowledge of meat, poultry, and/or fish processing plants is a plus.
- Ability to qualify for a U.S. passport.
- Current authorization to work full‑time in the U.S.
- Standing, sitting, walking, and lifting up to 60 lbs (occasionally 25 lbs repetitively).
- Manual dexterity, and normal hearing and vision.
- Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, stooping, twisting for 8+ hours.
- Occasional lifting up to 60 lbs overhead, working on ladders, and repetitive hand, shoulder, and wrist motions.
- Cold, hot, humid, and wet plant conditions.
- Availability required for early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
