Material Handler - 3rd Shift at The H-J Family of Companies

Summary:

Responsible for handling, moving, and storage of materials and product.

• Provide assistance to the department in the day-to-day operation of moving materials
• Ensure all safety features on the equipment are working properly
• Stage and segregate product in designated areas; adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements
• Timely notification and delivery of receipts to designated personnel
• Use moving equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to safely and efficiently move inventory around the warehouse
• Document movement of materials through a transfer system
• Complete daily preventive maintenance checklist on assigned lifts
• Monitor inventory by completing counts as required
• Package inventory for safe shipping
• Assemble containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions
• Take inventory, maintain storage area, organize and place stock on shelves; ensure area is secure at all times
• Share ideas, improvements and recommendations for continuous improvement to help optimize results to improve safety and quality
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs. several times a day
• Forklift and pallet jack experience strongly preferred
• Must be able to stand for the vast majority of the shift
• Willingness to work overtime to complete any duties as assigned
• This is manual work requiring frequent sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and walking

3rd Shift is Sun - Wed, 4X10hr shifts, 8:15 pm – 6:45 am. All employees are expected to work overtime hours as needed. Overtime is typically twice a month on Fridays and are 8-hour shifts.
