Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
Sets up and operates one or more slide forming machines to automatically punch, cut, and form metal strips and wire by action of opposing rams to fabricate parts such as spring washers, brackets, and clips.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities And Competencies
Reads and interprets documents (blue prints, drawing, or manufacturing work orders), to ascertain what tools and materials are necessary for producing products to precision tolerance to aircraft specifications.
Sets up and operates, on a production basis, various four-slide machines. This includes settings and adjustments required to produce parts to specification. Selects, mounts and aligns tooling attachments and materials in proper order and relationship. Makes all adjustments necessary to produce parts of acceptable quality.
Loads machine with material and monitors production run, using measuring devices, such as comparator, micrometers, calipers and various other inspection gauges.
Meets and maintains all productivity levels, as well as quality to support departmental goals and schedules.
Performs records keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.

COMPETENCIES:
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Blueprint Reading
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Education And/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). A minimum of 4 years experience in manufacturing aircraft quality fasteners using four-slide machinery; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop or bend. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $19.00-$29.86
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location.
