Position SummaryThe Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Clerk will unload incoming freight, transfer it to proper storage areas, load outbound DRP’s using a forklift, and use the computer to receive inventory in system. The role reports to the QA Manager or Warehouse Manager and is based at our California location.
Primary Responsibilities- Efficiently operate forklift and other material‑handling equipment to unload incoming freight and transfer it to the proper departments or storage area.
- Acquire empty pallets from storage and stack incoming freight and materials on the proper pallets as instructed.
- Use a computer to receive inventory, print pallet tags, and identify ingredients and supplies; apply the tags to the proper area of each pallet.
- Maintain proper colored tags and storage requirements on all organic ingredients.
- Report any issues with DRP’s or other incoming loads.
- Perform weekly and monthly cycle counts of production materials.
- Complete forklift inspection reports at the start of each shift and report deficiencies to maintenance.
- Complete all required paperwork as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Sample incoming concentrates as required per proper GMP.
- Maintain work area neat and orderly.
- Complete weekly Operator P.M.’s and communicate problems related to equipment or safety.
- Ensure all shipped freight is sealed and in good condition before loading.
- Review and apply inventory activities, including movements and deletions.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Report stock issues to management and place product orders as needed.
- Perform receiving and shipping transactions in QAD, manage signatures, and file related paperwork.
- Be accountable for food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Notify management of actual or potential food safety issues.
- Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements for the position.
- Work with supervision to resolve food safety and quality issues within scope.
- Assist the receiving department as needed.
- Order and receive cranberry tankers.
- Maintain raw material inventories (weekly, monthly, annually).
- Complete inventory adjustments as needed.
- Backup QA supervisor, batchroom stager, and batching as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Six months forklift experience.
- One to three months of related experience.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, can multi‑task.
- Excellent time management skills.

- Experience in the food/beverage industry.
- Ability to work independently.

- Build and maintain professional relationships.
Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to operate machinery and equipment; exposure to wet/humid conditions and seasonal temperature fluctuations.
Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above shoulder height, lifting up to 50 lbs from below waist to above shoulders, transport distances up to 50 feet; wear a dust mask; perform confined entry with LOTO program; exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
