Production Plant Superintendent – Piston Automotive – Wentzville, MO
Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Monday‑Friday) with overtime opportunities.
OverviewManages all activities related to operations and development of company products. As a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, this role drives continuous improvement, safeguards cost, quality, and delivery commitments, and coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions and suppliers.
Responsibilities- Establishes production and quality‑control standards, develops budgets and cost controls, and monitors product order details.
- Develops and enforces operational budgets, ensuring performance targets are met.
- Ensures system adherence, including TS 16949 requirements.
- Fosters a collaborative environment that encourages active participation of all team members.
- Leads the facility in the Plant Manager’s absence.
- Creates and sustains a safe work environment throughout the entire plant.
- Develops manufacturing operations business plans covering program requirements, labor, cycle, production costs, and image.
- Guides the development of manufacturing process plans, including personnel, material, subcontract, facility, tooling, and equipment needs.
- Reviews production and operating reports, directing resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize costs and prevent delays.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as an Operations Supervisor or Manager, including ILVS/JIT/Broadcast environments.
- Eight years’ experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts (e.g., Toyota Production System) and TS 16949 quality processes.
- Strong leadership, independent thinking, excellent organizational planning, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience as a change agent and proficiency in problem‑solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, etc.).
