Managing Director – Data Centre Design Consultancy

We are a specialised engineering consultancy delivering mission-critical data centre design services across APAC and EMEA. We are seeking a Managing Director with strong operational and project delivery expertise to lead our APAC offices.

This role is primarily focused on operational leadership, project governance, financial control, and ensuring the successful execution of complex data centre design assignments.

Oversee the day‑to‑day operations

• Implement structured project governance frameworks and internal controls.

• Ensure consistent delivery standards across all ongoing projects.

• Monitor resource allocation and capacity planning.

• Direct oversight of multidisciplinary data centre design projects (electrical, mechanical, civil, sustainability).

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.

• Lead project reviews, risk assessments, and performance evaluations.

• Manage contractual obligations and resolve delivery‑related issues.

• Lead, mentor, and structure high‑performing project and engineering/architect teams.

• Establish clear KPIs for project managers and technical leads.

• Drive accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee recruitment and talent development aligned with operational needs.

• Act as executive point of contact during project execution phases.

• Manage client expectations and ensure service excellence.

• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and authorities where required.

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).

• Minimum 12–15 years’ experience in engineering consultancy or mission‑critical infrastructure.

• Proven experience managing complex project portfolios.

• Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure systems (power, cooling, redundancy, resilience design).

• Demonstrated operational leadership experience.

• Strong knowledge of contract management and project risk control.

• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
