Overview
In collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Assistant Director of Evaluation provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all undergraduate application evaluation processes. This position ensures evaluation practices are efficient, equitable, and aligned with campus and UC systemwide admission goals. Oversees comprehensive and transfer evaluation units, directing activities related to application review, admission decisions, and quality assurance. Leads evaluation strategies, performance metrics, and the integrity of UC Riverside’s admissions standards and the University’s mission of access and excellence.
Responsibilities- Lead annual planning and execution of the evaluation cycle.
- Manage staffing and resource allocation to meet campus enrollment targets.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with recruitment, systems, and enrollment management partners.
- Lead collaborative efforts with UCR’s schools and colleges to align admissions decisions with academic program capacity and enrollment priorities.
- Drive innovation in evaluation practices through data analytics, technology solutions, and continuous process improvement.
- Represent UCR in systemwide committees and contribute to campus policy discussions; provide strategic counsel to the Director on matters impacting admission review and decision‑making.
- Ensure evaluation operations are accurate, timely, data-informed, and aligned with broader campus and UC system enrollment objectives.
The full salary range is $93,200 - $174,200 annually; the expected pay scale is $93,200 - $124,068 annually. Salary offers are based on education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization. Sponsorship of employment visas is not available for staff. University policies and collective bargaining agreements apply. Federal, state, or local directives may impose additional requirements.
Requirements- Bachelor s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 8 - 13 years of related experience; previous supervisory/managerial experience.
- Advanced knowledge of education theory, policy, practice, and evaluation; knowledge of organizational development strategies.
- Ability to interpret data from diverse sources; strong written and verbal communication; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience in planning and implementing recruitment and yield activities; ability to develop strategic plans and KPIs.
- Significant knowledge of UC policies, transfer policies, general education policies, and transfer preparation.
- Experience in higher education Undergraduate Admissions and recruitment; fiscal and personnel management knowledge.
