Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean and CFAO, the CHASS Facilities Manager is responsible for managing operations of the CHASS Facilities Management (CFM) department, providing space planning, facilities equipment, and event management related support services to all CHASS units to assist them with instructional, research, creative, exhibition, and performance work. CFM also facilitates and coordinates CHASS safety and security.
The department serves general academic buildings (Humanities, Psychology, Watkins, Sproul, Interdisciplinary, etc.) and approximately 211,000 SF of specialized classrooms, studios, and labs.
Valid driver’s license and compliant driving record (or enrollment in the California Employer Pull Notice Program) are required. Salary range: $103,100 – $196,300 annually. Applicants must have current work authorization; the University does not sponsor employment visas.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience/training in facilities management.
Experience Requirements: 8–13 years of related experience, including at least 2 years in space management and prior supervisory/managerial experience.
- Strong facilitation and collaboration skills with internal and external constituencies on short‑ and long‑term facilities planning and management.
- Strong analytical, research, and report‑preparation skills for regulatory and budgetary reporting.
- Broad knowledge of facilities management, space planning and allocation, security, fire and safety, and emergency preparedness.
- Strong management, regulatory compliance, and operations‑planning skills.
- Leadership, staff motivation, and team‑building abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Construction knowledge: ability to inspect construction in progress, read, sketch, and interpret plans and specifications.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
