Materials Manager

The Materials Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all material-related activities to ensure timely availability of resources for production and customer needs. This role oversees Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving, Inventory Control, and Material Handling functions, ensuring efficient procurement, accurate inventory, and streamlined logistics.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
• General knowledge of purchasing, shipping, and receiving.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with computerized inventory systems required (ERP systems).
• Experience with managing a team.
• Purchasing practices to support the manufacturing field.

• Aids in maintaining consistent stock of inventory.
• Aids in establishing and maintaining backup sources for high-demand items.
• Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic or recurring delivery.
• Provides inventory reports as requested.
• Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
• Maintains accurate daily records of goods received.
• Manages and maintains.
  
  Bytes inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the General Manager.
• Directs frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
• Directs periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
• .href executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
• Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
• Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors/material handler.
• Coordinates with the Purchasing Department regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc.
• Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse.
• Operates forklift as needed.
• Coordinates daily shipping and receiving requirements.
• Coordinates with other departments to support daily operations.
• Performs additional duties assigned by Management.
