Responsibilities

Job Description And Duties
Under the general supervision of the Captain, AI, the Correctional Lieutenant directs the daily operations of a specific area and/or program of the institution. This area includes the supervision of Correctional Sergeants, Correctional Officers, ancillary staff and inmates. The Correctional Lieutenant is responsible for both the custody phase and the general operation of the programs under policy established by the Warden and the Department.

Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or may become permanent.

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
