The Senior Project Manager at National Electric Works is responsible for leading the largest and most complex electrical construction projects, ensuring overall project success from preconstruction through closeout. This role has full accountability for project performance, including financial outcomes, contract compliance, schedule adherence, safety, and quality. The Senior Project Manager serves as the primary company representative for executive-level clients, provides leadership and mentorship to project teams, and plays a key role in building long-term relationships with owners, general contractors, and trade partners.

The following list of duties and responsibilities serves as a guideline for the position and does not limit the tasks that may be assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and oversee the successful completion of large-scale, high-value electrical construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract documents, building codes, and company standards.
  • Anticipate project risks and implement proactive solutions to avoid delays or financial impacts.
  • Lead project planning, including manpower strategies, long-lead material coordination, and construction sequencing.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex project challenges, supporting Project Managers and Superintendents in problem resolution.
  • Maintain full financial responsibility for assigned projects, ensuring budgets are achieved or improved upon.
  • Manage labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor budgets, providing accurate cost-to-complete forecasts.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and resolve change orders and contract modifications with clients.
  • Oversee subcontract scoping, contract negotiations, and monthly billing processes.
  • Ensure all financial and project tracking systems are updated accurately and on schedule.
  • Build and maintain strong executive-level client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and major equipment procurement.
  • Oversee submittals, approvals, and delivery schedules for critical equipment such as switch gear, lighting, and controls.
  • Represent NEW in high-level meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, maintaining professionalism and accountability.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and field leadership.
  • Monitor manpower requirements and collaborate with Superintendents to align crew size with budget and schedule needs.
  • Support training, development, and succession planning within the project management team.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and performance excellence.
Project Closeout & Continuous Improvement
  • Oversee project closeout, including punch list completion, O&M manual preparation, and warranty coordination.
  • Lead lessons-learned reviews to improve project delivery processes across the company.
  • Drive continuous improvement in estimating, project execution, and client engagement practices.
EDUCATION, SKILL, EXPERIENCE OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in electrical construction management, with at least 5 years as a Project Manager overseeing multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, building codes, and contract law.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Bluebeam, and project management software (Procore, MS Project, etc.).
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing large, complex projects to completion on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and executive-level communication skills.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Salary range: $145,000 – $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Standard office and jobsite environment. The individual will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. Occasionally, may lift boxes or materials (typically 20 pounds or less).
