The Employment Development Department’s Tax Branch Field Audit and Compliance Division seeks a part‑time Custodian for the San Jose Area Audit Office, Technical Audit and Outreach Group. Under direction of the Tax Administrator I, the custodian will assist in general cleaning and custodial work at 906 Ruff Drive, 2nd Floor, San Jose, CA 95110. Responsibilities include safely lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs, identifying and resolving complex custodial issues, and maintaining a clean work environment.

• Experience in custodial work.
• Ability to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex custodial issues.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain courteous relationships with staff.
• Experience with safety regulations and compliance.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex custodial issues.

Applicants must be eligible for the Custodian classification, which may require completion of the state examination. Candidates with existing list eligibility do not need to retake the exam unless it has expired.
