Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (depending on length of lunch)

Pay Rate: $15.50/hour

State Technical College of Missouri is seeking dependable and detail‑oriented Summer Housing Custodian to support our custodial team during the busy summer season. This temporary, full‑time position plays a key role in preparing student housing for fall move‑in and maintaining a clean, safe campus environment. This seasonal position (mid‑May through mid‑August) is responsible for cleaning and preparing student housing units, cottages, common areas, and related facilities.

The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining State Tech’s high standards for cleanliness and safety. Apply today at /

• Clean and prepare student housing units
• Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing
• Deep clean bathrooms, appliances, and high‑touch surfaces
• Empty indoor and outdoor trash
• Restock paper goods and soap dispensers in common areas
• Clean interior and entryway glass in housing facilities
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing batteries in sensors, fixtures, etc.)
• Perform groundskeeping tasks around housing areas as needed
• Assist with furniture movement, setup, and room resets
• Ensure housing buildings are secure at the end of shift
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must be able to safely use ladders, reach overhead, and maintain balance while performing tasks
