Job Title

Custodian I, Permanent Intermittent – California Highway Patrol – Job Code JC‑503921

Salary: $19.39 – $24.01 per Hour. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Sergeant, the Custodian I is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility and hangar for the Thermal Air Operations Unit.

Specific Duties
  • Collecting garbage and cleaning garbage receptacles; dusting desks, cabinets, counters, venetian blinds, tables, equipment, and furniture; dusting floors, sweeping, and wet mopping floors; stripping, cleaning, and waxing floors as needed.
  • Vacuuming carpets and area rugs; dry cleaning carpets on a bi‑annual basis.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting smudges on glass, counters, telephones, walls, windows, doors, and writing tables with spot and smudge remover to maintain the cleanliness of the office and facility.
Working Conditions

Permanent Intermittent – 36 hours per month.
