JOB TITLE: Vending Repair Technician
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Nutrition Services
FLSA: Non-Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARYThe Vending Machine Repair Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of vending machines located within the Fort Zumwalt School District. This role ensures that vending machines operate efficiently and effectively, providing students and staff with access to snacks and beverages as needed. This position will also assist the student nutrition department by delivering needed food and other items to district cafeterias in a safe and timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in maintenance, refrigeration systems, or similar equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. This person must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to follow technical manuals and instructions. This person must have a valid driver’s license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESAbility to troubleshoot and solve technical problems, maintain highly confidential information; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this position an employee will be required to walk, stand, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods. This person will be required to have the manual dexterity to manipulate small components and tools for repairs. Occasionally lift and move heavy objects weighing up to 100 pounds. TERMSOF EMPLOYMENT
Employment will be on an at-will basis for 12 months with two weeks vacation, beginning July 1, or from the time of employment for the duration of the school year with prorated vacation and/or personal leave. Each maintenance employee will be provided a work calendar showing the specific daily work schedule of the employee. The work calendar may be modified by the Board of Education at any time, as needs dictate.
Eight and one-half hours (including a 30-minute non-paid lunch period) will constitute a workday. The Deputy Superintendent will establish a definite daily schedule. The yearly salary will be disbursed in twenty-four (24) equal payments.
End-of-the-year performance evaluations will occur annually per the provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of support staff personnel.
