JOB SUMMARY:

The Facilities Worker performs a variety of routine general building maintenance, grounds maintenance, and housekeeping under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager. Maintains regular attendance and adheres to a prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities. Assists the maintenance team with other projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs a variety of housekeeping, grounds maintenance, and routine building maintenance activities for Shops, Warehouse, and other MSQC owned facilities.
• Performs a variety of routine building maintenance and repairs; replaces light bulbs; removes graffiti; patch holes and paint; regular checks of fire alarms, smoke detectors, and so on.
• Performs grounds maintenance and gardening duties; waters plants/flowers; trims lawns; pulls weeds as needed; snow and ice removal.
• Sweeps, scrubs, mops, polishes floors; vacuums, shampoos, and spot clean rugs and carpets as needed.
• Cleans kitchens, breakroom areas, restroom facilities including sinks, toilets, and urinals; replenishes supplies in restrooms; cleans mirrors, walls, doors and windows; unclog drains and toilets as needed; empties waste receptacles; replaces light bulbs as needed. Responds to emergency custodial requests.
• Operates and maintains light to heavy power tools / equipment used to perform building/grounds maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Perform preventative level one maintenance; lubrication of machines, changing of filters, etc.
• Understand, interpret, and apply policies, work standards and health and safety regulations; safely use, store, and dispose of cleaning agents and chemicals; identify and report safety hazards and need for maintenance and repair; report issues to the Maintenance Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned; deliver and pick up materials or run errands; minor fixes such as repairing broken locks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/

Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience using hand and electrical tools
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Able to read technical manuals and drawings
• Equipment maintenance experience
• Must be able to use a computer and email literate
• Prior general maintenance, landscaping, painting, and housekeeping experience are helpful.

Physical Requirements:

• The position is primarily seeing, hearing, standing, walking with bending, lifting, kneeling, and reaching overhead, etc.
• Repetitive use of hands and fingers while operating a keyboard or power tools
• Lifting, up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
