Summaryof Position
Responsible for assisting the Maintenance team in performing a variety of basic skills involved in the upkeep of buildings and grounds, including lodging, retail stores, restaurants and housing.
Responsibilities- Receive and complete work orders timely and efficiently, as required by Maintenance Department policies and procedures, and assist in the completion, tracking, and reporting of work orders.
- Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment, as requested.
- Perform hands‑on repairs in most maintenance disciplines.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures including when lifting, climbing, etc.
- Be available to assist other team members with maintenance related tasks.
- Polite, knowledgeable, and timely customer service when responding to visitor inquiries.
- Understand the Company’s ISO (Environmental & Quality) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet the specific responsibilities within these areas.
- Complete other duties per Duties Checklist and as assigned.
- Demonstrate basic skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair.
- Possess the initiative to learn and willingness to grow in maintenance operations.
- Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs and understand the OSHA safety requirements as applicable.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to operate vehicles throughout property.
- Education:
High school Diploma or equivalent. Technical certification/degree preferred. - Experience:
1 year of general maintenance and/or construction National Park experience preferred.
