State of Missouri
Washington State Park, 13041 State Highway 104, De Soto Mo 63020. Standard work shift is 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., with at least one weekend per month and various holidays, evenings, and special events. This position may also include work at other state parks.

Responsibilities- Semi‑skilled work in facility maintenance, grounds maintenance, construction and repair of buildings and trail systems, and routine cleaning of structures and grounds.
- Assist with assigning tasks to and reviewing work of seasonal maintenance staff.
- Direct and perform facility maintenance and upkeep according to facility plans, including vehicle and equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, grounds keeping, building and structure maintenance, infrastructure and tree trimming, and some on‑site vehicle and equipment repairs.
- Purchase operating supplies, parts and project materials; follow procurement rules and procedures.
- Communicate openly and effectively with the public, external stakeholders, supervisors and subordinates.
- Assist with stewardship of resources, including controlled burns, invasive plant removal and other resource‑management projects.
- Maintain knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures and policies; attend mandatory and other trainings, including overnight stays.
- Obtain and maintain water/wastewater certifications and other required licenses/certifications within twelve months if not already possessed.
- Building and Construction – knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for constructing objects, structures, and buildings.
- Learning – uses efficient learning techniques to acquire and apply new knowledge and skills.
- Mechanical – knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Attention to Detail – thoroughness and conscientiousness in performing work.
- Problem Solving – identifies problems, evaluates alternatives, and makes recommendations.
- Accountability – holds self and others accountable for high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results; sets priorities and delegates work.
- One to three years of experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, or mechanical repair. Additional education or experience may substitute.
- Valid vehicle operator’s license.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical outdoor work: walking on uneven terrain, lifting 50‑75 pound objects, working on roofs, operating equipment such as mowers, tractors, trimmers, backpack blowers, and climbing ladders.
- Availability to work some weekends, evenings, and holidays to include special events.
- Fire Certification, S‑190 or MDC Level 1, obtained within the first 12 months of employment.
