Under the supervision of a Caltrans Maintenance Complete Streets Supervisor, incumbent must retain a Class A Commercial Drivers License and will operate equipment, construction machinery, vehicles and tools and will perform labor intensive work associated with maintaining the state highway system and during emergency operations. Employee will be working on the Complete Streets Crew. Employee may also be assigned to preform non-equipment operation duties normally assigned to other classifications as part of their normal assignment.
may be required to do heavy manual labor routinely lifting 50lbs or more in order to load materials and require long periods of driving or standing depending on assignments, along with storm water related activities in support of the departments storm water pollution prevention program. This is a traveling crew and may be required to travel up to 50% of the time.

For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. - Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
