Overview
A top reputable national law firm in Downtown LA is seeking a Litigation Secretary.
Responsibilities- Operate computer applications and transcribe dictation.
- Type, proofread, and draft legal documents and correspondence.
- Electronically file legal case documents in State and Federal Courts.
- Screen telephone calls and record messages.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including routing as necessary.
- Maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems.
- Open and maintain files, including periodic reviews for storage.
- Record billable work accurately and promptly.
- Maintain knowledge of key clients and contacts.
- Receive clients and visitors, maintaining confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments and assist with attorney travel arrangements.
- Occasionally work beyond standard hours as needed.
- Strong organizational skills and court filing experience, including e-filing in state and federal courts, to work directly with the managing partner.
- Paralegal Certificate
- 7+ years of experience in civil litigation with the ability to assist with transactional tasks such as revising agreements, audit letter responses, and opinion letters, using software like Word, Adobe, and redlining.
