Are you a seasoned underwriting professional with a passion for business development? We’re looking for a Business Development Underwriter to drive growth and profitability in the cannabis and supermarket sectors. This role focuses on expanding our client base, maintaining strong agency relationships, and providing exceptional customer service while managing profitability within an assigned underwriting territory.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and secure new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing client relationships.

Develop and strengthen partnerships with retail agents, ensuring excellent service and support.

Present insurance products and solutions to clients and industry stakeholders.

Underwrite and price risks within property, general liability, and excess lines, ensuring profitability.

Stay up to date with industry trends, particularly within the cannabis and supermarket sectors.

What We’re Looking For:

10+ years of experience in property and general liability underwriting, with a strong focus on the grocery/retail and property segments.

Proven track record of business development and client relationship management.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely.

Bachelor's degree preferred; insurance designations or licenses are a plus.
