WhatYou’ll Do
As the SEO & AIO Specialist at Viasat, you will be responsible for driving visibility, engagement, and trust across both traditional search engines (SEO) and AI‑driven discovery platforms (AIO) such as Google’s AI Overviews, Bing Copilot, ChatGPT, and others. This role will primarily focus on Viasat’s B2C and B2B Broadband Services in the United States supporting customer acquisition efforts. This role blends technical SEO expertise, content strategy, and AI search optimization to ensure our brand ranks well, appears accurately, and earns positive representation in generative search results.
Theday‑to‑day Search Engine Optimization
- Conduct keyword, competitor, and SERP intent research to identify content opportunities.
- Optimize on‑page elements: titles, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, and schema markup.
- Perform regular technical audits (site speed, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals).
- Collaborate with web developers to implement SEO best practices across CMS.
- Track and report on organic traffic, keyword rankings, and conversion performance using Adobe Analytics, GSC, and SEO platforms (Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.).
- Research how our brand and competitors appear in Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and ChatGPT search results.
- Optimize content and structured data to increase visibility and accuracy in AI‑generated summaries.
- Identify AI citation opportunities by improving factual, source‑attributable, and entity‑based content.
- Develop AIO‑ready content guidelines (concise, authoritative, answer‑based writing).
- Partner with the content and brand teams to ensure consistency between human search and AI search narratives.
- Experiment with generative search tracking tools and report AIO performance metrics.
- Monitor brand sentiment and online reputation across reviews, forums, and media outlets.
- Collaborate with PR and strategic partners to improve visibility of positive stories and mitigate negative press.
- Track how brand sentiment affects SEO rankings and AIO summaries.
- 3–5+ years of experience in SEO (agency or in‑house).
- Solid understanding of search intent, keyword research, and technical SEO fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush, and schema markup.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with AI search experiences (Google SGE, Bing Copilot, ChatGPT).
- Experience with content strategy, AI‑driven analytics, or entity‑based SEO.
- Knowledge of structured data, JSON-LD, and content taxonomy management.
- Exposure to brand reputation management.
- Comfort working with developers and content teams in CMS environments.
$76,500.00 - $ / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $95,000.00 - $ / annually. At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
