Position DescriptionThe Fires SME is responsible for providing technical expertise in fire support systems including AFATDS, JADOCS, and THSv
2. The individual installs, configures, and operates fires systems to support test events and operational exercises, conducts over-the-shoulder training, and performs comprehensive test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting. This role requires deep knowledge of fires systems and the ability to establish functioning fire support cells.
- Four years experience in operating, administering, training, or testing Fires systems such as Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), or Target Handoff System version 2 (THSv2).
- Experience administering VMware ESXi, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows Server Operating Systems (desired).
- Experience in Microsoft Active Directory (desired).
- Working knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting of Cisco routing and switching (desired).
- CompTIA Security+ certification (desired).
- Other duties as assigned to support team goals and maintain operational efficiency
The Fires SME demonstrates advanced expertise in operating and integrating multiple fire support systems to support tactical operations. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, proficiency in system configuration and network integration, and the ability to conduct training and comprehensive test events in both shipboard and laboratory environments.
Physical Requirements for the roleThis position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including viewing monitors, using keyboards, and operating standard office equipment. The role may require occasional standing, walking, and minimal lifting (up to 10 pounds).

Work EnvironmentThe work environment for this position is primarily a professional office or remote setting with standard business conditions. The role involves regular use of computers and related technology in a low-noise environment and frequent collaboration with technical and non-technical team members. Compensation$120,000 - $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
