Role DescriptionYou will develop the technical design for either cloud or on‑premises solutions. Influence designs across R&D using original research and advanced analysis. Design solutions for business‑critical, highly complex engineering projects applying domain expertise in performance testing. Provide oversight of code and design reviews, ensuring features meet business and quality requirements. Own mission‑critical aspects of a rapidly growing, globally distributed platform (e.g., Hashrate Marketplace and 15 unique mining pools) in the cloud.
This role reports to the Head of Dev Ops and is remote, with ideal candidates in UTC–8 to UTC–3 time zones.
- Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration (Containers, Kubernetes, Service Mesh)
- Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD pipelines (Git, Git Hub Actions), configuration management, and Git Ops (Flux, ArgoCD)
- Understanding of TCP/IP stack, DNS, SSL/TLS and network security
- Experience building and managing observability (metrics, logging, tracing)
- Strong programming skills in at least one language
- 4+ years of relevant Dev Ops experience
- 1+ year of software development; experience with cloud platform services (GCP, on‑premises)
- Experience with agile development and delivering web‑scale pipelines in production
- Bonus: familiarity with virtualization technologies such as Open Stack, Harvester, KVM, Firecracker, Kata containers, cloud-hypervisor
- Proficiency in English
- Passionate about cryptocurrency and public‑blockchain technologies
- Excited to create a new market around compute power as a commodity
- Interested in cloud computing and evolving software architecture
- Enjoys writing code and pushing boundaries, while contributing to team culture
- Can dive deep into quality code while meeting schedule
- Build, maintain, and deploy native cloud clusters of blockchain daemons at scale, high availability, and redundancy
- Operate and maintain Kubernetes and virtual machine environments
- Proactively monitor performance bottlenecks and unusual behavior to prevent outages
- Write clear policies, procedures, and technical documentation
- Follow security best practices and foster security guidelines
- Collaborate on architecture definitions with a focus on scalability and security
- Participate in compliance with system and organization controls
- Contribute to feature analysis and generation processes
- Investigate and debug issues in open‑source services as needed
