EVALCORP is a growing evaluation and measurement consulting firm headquartered in south Orange County, CA (Irvine area). We provide evaluation, needs assessment, and strategic planning services for government agencies and nonprofit organizations. We are seeking a full-time Bilingual Research Assistant II (English/Spanish) to support multiple project teams. The Research Assistant II will contribute to applied research and evaluation efforts by assisting with data collection, management, analysis and reporting, ensuring all materials and interactions are linguistically accurate and culturally appropriate.

This role is based in California and involves occasional travel to client sites. Candidates must have access to their own transportation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and schedule data collection activities
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection in English and Spanish with communities, providers, and professionals (stakeholder interviews, focus groups, surveys, etc.) – Data collection must be culturally sensitive and linguistically accurate
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Maintain project data sets, including data entry, verification, and cleaning
  • Conduct or assist with inferential statistical and qualitative analysis
  • Summarize data in tables, charts, graphs
  • Create data visualizations, with direction
  • Draft or assist with drafting sections of reports and presentations in English and Spanish
  • Format reports and presentations in English and Spanish
  • Participate in client and team meetings and perform note taking during meetings
  • Translate data collection tools and other documents in English and Spanish, as needed
  • Conduct other activities to support projects, as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in psychology or an applied social science
  • One year or more of full-time evaluation or similar applied research experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and SPSS or similar statistical software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Preferred:
    Experience working in or with a non-profit and/or government agency
  • Preferred:
    Subject matter expertise in criminal justice, public health or mental health
REQUIRED

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced professional fluency (equivalent to CEFR C1/C2) in both spoken and written Spanish and English
  • Ability to conduct interviews, focus groups, and other professional interactions in Spanish and English
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Organized and produces high-quality work for multiple projects
  • Follows instructions and seeks assistance appropriately
  • Actively listen and remember key points from communication with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, small business and respond flexibly to changing business needs
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm data and information
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend work
  • Travel to firm office and to client locations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., laptops, printed reports, materials for presentations)
  • Ability to travel by car for extended periods to attend meetings or conduct fieldwork
  • Occasional physical setup of meeting or data collection spaces (e.g., arranging chairs or equipment)
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment
  • Visual and auditory ability to conduct interviews and focus groups in person and virtually
