Job Description and Duties

Are you a Salesforce Architect with an Enterprise view? Are you a creative big‑picture thinker but also an in-depth problem solver? Come work with an energetic and innovative team, comprised of talented staff sourced from across the private sector and government, working together, hyper‑focused and passionate about making public transit better in all regions of California. We’re looking to add a key role to our depth chart, seeking a Salesforce Architect that has knowledge and expertise in integrating Salesforce with other technologies and vice versa, as well as experience with governance and development operations, but who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves when the need arises.

Have you thought about how you would design a Salesforce B2B Grants Solution that could make the world a better place? The Salesforce Architect is a brand‑new role, charged with designing and building a Grant Management Solution to support an entirely new Caltrans program and process:
Customer Success for grantees, including technical assistance for transit agencies for the Division of Data and Digital Services (DDS). Are you looking to do meaningful, exciting, and truly innovative work? This is that role.

Join the team modernizing how the Department of Transportation makes grant investments in local projects everywhere in California. Learn which projects local agencies want to build and how they go about doing it using grant funds. Help any number of the 250+ public transit agencies in California modernize so that they can represent their services on Google and Apple Maps and accept payment directly on trains and buses by debit/credit cards.

As the Technical Architect for implementing Salesforce, you will be at the start of organizing Caltrans around its thousands of customers (local agencies) – what they want, what they do, what they need help with. Transportation is everywhere and Caltrans is at the center of it all.

Under the administrative direction of the Application Development and Support Division (ADSD) Chief (CEA), the incumbent operates at the highest level in discovering, assessing, architecting, and delivering the most complex enterprise solutions using Salesforce for customer‑facing business processes. Assignments require an advanced level of organizational understanding to bridge the strategic intent and…
