Senior Network EngineerLocation: On-site – Orange, Connecticut
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week, on-site in Orange, CT
Duration: 6 months (contract to hire)
OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, manage, and optimize a large-scale enterprise network spanning 350+ locations. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise and cloud networking, advanced routing, security, and proactive monitoring to ensure high availability, performance, and security across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, deploy, and maintain a scalable, highly available, and secure enterprise network across 350+ locations.
- Design, implement, and support MPLS, Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), point-to-point (P2P) circuits, and cloud connectivity solutions.
- Manage and optimize AWS Direct Connect and Azure Express Route integrations.
- Engineer and support IPSec VPN tunnels for site-to-site and remote access connectivity.
- Implement advanced routing using BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, static routes, prefix lists, route maps, NAT, and ACLs.
- Administer and support Cisco routers (ISR, ASR) and Cisco switches (Catalyst, Nexus).
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise wireless networks, including Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) and Access Points.
- Manage Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) to ensure reliable and resilient network services.
- Configure and maintain Cisco Client / Network Access Control (802.1X, NAC, authentication) policies.
- Perform proactive network monitoring, performance analysis, and troubleshooting using SNMP-based tools.
- Utilize Extra Hop and other network analytics platforms for deep packet inspection, traffic analysis, and security visibility.
- Lead network automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to ensure network best practices and compliance.
- Provide escalation support and mentorship for junior network engineers.
- 8–10 years of hands‑on experience in network engineering, architecture, and operations.
- Strong expertise in MPLS, DIA, P2P circuits, and enterprise WAN technologies.
- Proven experience with AWS Direct Connect and Azure Express Route.
- Deep knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF.
- Extensive experience implementing IPSec VPN, NAT, ACLs, and route maps.
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco networking platforms (ISR, ASR, Catalyst, Nexus).
- Proficiency with SNMP-based monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, PRTG, Thousand Eyes, or Cisco DNA Center.
- Hands‑on experience with Extra Hop for network traffic analysis and security visibility.
- Experience managing Infoblox DDI environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in large, distributed network environments.
- Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible, or similar tools) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
