RIS Rx is seeking a Director of Software Engineering
, reporting to the CTO, to help lead in the execution and optimization of our engineering organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the engineering team delivers high-quality software with predictable velocity, leveraging project management discipline, accountability structures, and planning. The Director of Software Engineering will drive operational excellence across engineering, ensuring that initiatives are completed on time and are aligned with business goals.

• Own end-to-end delivery of through Agile/Scrum teams, ensuring clear timelines, milestones, and accountability
• Optimize existing Agile/Scrum development practices to maximize flow and delivery predictability
• Partner with Product Management team to ensure well-defined backlogs and align engineering priorities with business strategy
• Team & People Management
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team with a culture of accountability and ownership
• Build leadership capacity within the team by developing engineering managers and technical leads
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement, while ensuring teams are equipped with the right tools and methodologies
• Operational Excellence
• Implement and refine engineering metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time, quality, on-time delivery) to drive transparency and improvement
• Provide transparency and visibility into team performance through dashboards and reports
• Anticipate and resolve resource bottlenecks, risks, and dependencies
• Balance short‑term delivery with long‑term innovation, ensuring the team can execute while investing in technical excellence
• Partner with architecture and technical leads to make scalable, sustainable technical decisions
• Champion use of AI and modern tools and practices to help teams deliver more efficiently and reliably

• 7–10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3–5 years in management and leadership roles
• Experience scaling and optimizing engineering organizations in high‑growth environments
• Knowledge in project management and planning methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with experience working cross‑functionally with Product Management and Operations
• Background in SaaS or technology‑driven organizations preferred
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
