Senior Full Stack Software Engineer
Join a fast-moving, low-ego team building at the intersection of digital assets, real-time data, and finance. You’ll own systems end-to-end: data ingestion (billions of points/day), distributed compute, APIs, and sleek React/Next.js dashboards that drive investment decisions. Go, Python, Type Script/React, Kubernetes. Familiarity with blockchain a plus. Up to $300K base + bonus. Hybrid, 2–3 days/week onsite.
About the RoleWe’re seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer for our San Diego based client, which is a leading digital assets investment firm with over $2B in AUM. This role is ideal if you thrive in fast-moving, high-impact environments and are energized by building technology at the cutting edge of finance and digital assets.
You’ll own systems end-to-end: from ingesting billions of market and on-chain data points, to powering quantitative strategies, to surfacing real-time insights through intuitive user interfaces.
This isn’t a siloed role: you’ll report directly to their CTO and touch backend, frontend, data engineering, and Dev Ops. You’ll have the autonomy to make meaningful technical decisions, and your work will directly influence trading, strategy, and portfolio outcomes.
This role is ideal for a curious and talented builder who wants to apply their engineering craft to a domain that’s reshaping global finance, and who’s excited to have direct impact in the digital assets space.
What You’ll Do- Own products end-to-end: Architect, build, and operate services spanning data ingestion, distributed compute, APIs, and UIs.
- Deliver sleek interfaces: Ship performant React / Next.js dashboards that empower the investment team to act quickly and intelligently.
- Scale data pipelines: Write Go/Python collectors and CDC jobs that handle terabytes per day, fanning out to Quest
DB, Postgres, and cloud storage. - Integrate with blockchains & exchanges: Consume event streams, query APIs, and occasionally write smart contracts bridging on-chain and off-chain logic.
- Champion engineering excellence: Automated testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and security best practices.
- Collaborate across the business: Partner with PMs, quants, accountants, and portfolio-company founders to turn ideas into production-ready software.
- 5+ years of experience building and operating complex and performant production systems, with both frontend and backend experience
- Experience with Type Script/React highly preferred, with proficiency in at least one compiled language (Go preferred).
- Strong foundation in data structures, real-time systems, and performance optimization.
- Comfort with Docker, Kubernetes, and a major cloud provider.
- Familiarity with blockchain concepts (EVM, smart contracts, on-chain data) or a strong desire to ramp quickly on the space.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver elegant solutions to tough problems.
- Experience writing smart contracts in Solidity or Rust.
- Background in quantitative finance, market-making, or low-latency trading.
- Prior work integrating with custody, exchange, or DeFi protocols.
- Hybrid: Minimum two days per week in their San Diego (Del Mar area) office.
- Pace: Fast-moving, high-trust, low-bureaucracy.
- Community: Hack days, team off-sites, and a culture that values curiosity and collaboration.
Compensation: $180K - $300K base salary + meaningful cash bonus / carry potential.
