Sr. AI Engineer Part-time

Lapis AI Consults is seeking a Sr. AI Engineer (contract, remote, Part-Time).

You will be responsible for maintaining existing complex ML and LLM-based applications, as well as developing and maintaining new ones.

• Strong background in Computer Science and Software Development
• Experience with complex RAG pipelines (without using Langchain or Llama Index)
• Tech stack:
  Foundation and opensource LLMs, vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate) and embeddings, Next.js, Vercel, Mongo
  
  DB, Cohere reranking, multimodal parsing (i.e. Unstructured.io)
• Must provide work samples (Git Hub)
• Must be based in US, UK, CA, or EU
• Ability to work EST and PST hours

This is a project-based, part-time, contract role.

• Work with the latest AI tools and technologies, including LLMs, MLLMs, voice, and vision models.
• Stay on top of AI trends, welcome new approaches, and make an impact in a rapidly evolving field.
• Collaborate with clients to understand business challenges and contribute to product design with a business-first mindset.

• Build new AI applications
• Maintain existing RAG-based applications which are built on a proprietary RAG pipeline
