This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. ADO comprises multi‑domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision‑making.

Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries:
Mission Technologies Division is actively searching for a Sr Cloud Engineer to join our team at Moonshot Labs in St. Louis, MO, to help the National Geospatial‑Intelligence Agency ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of new software applications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a strong understanding of software development principles, and the ability to make a big impact on our team.

What

You Will Do
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional software development teams to test and deploy new applications.
  • Develop and maintain the software and automation that keeps our systems running smoothly.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance.
  • Identify and resolve system bottlenecks.
  • Build, design, implement, and refine cloud architectures and provide prescriptive guidance across the network and security.
  • Lead early scoping definitions and identify critical dependencies. Identify and mitigate technology risks and develop architecture to support processes.
  • Collaborate with functional business units to drive business solutions and direction.
  • Develop and document framework for integration and implementation of cloud systems.
  • Determine sizing, capacity planning, and requirements for infrastructure, network, and security in the cloud offering.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or C#.
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, including design patterns and best practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with monitoring and vulnerability tools such as Red Hat ACS, Fortify, OWASP, Sonar Qube, Kibana, and others.
  • Strong understanding of NGA’s AWS cloud environments and native cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of NGA Software Development Lifecycle and Dev Sec Ops  pipelines utilizing Git Lab and Open Shift.
  • TS/SCI Clearance with the U.S. DoD REQUIRED AT HIRE.
