Overview

As a Retail Recruiter your primary focus will be on providing an outstanding candidate experience throughout the hiring process. You will manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle, from sourcing and interviewing candidates to guiding them through a seamless onboarding experience.

About the role
  • Relationship Building and Communication:
    Support and reinforce Dierbergs' purpose - Grow Every Day while reinforcing the CPR model (Character → Process → Result).
  • Develop strong working partnerships with Store/Satellite Directors and Management Teams to understand business objectives and candidate requirements.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with Store/Satellite Directors to determine recruiting effectiveness and forecast future openings.
  • Communicate with Associates regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and identify qualified candidates.
Candidate Experience Management
  • Serve as the first point of contact for candidates, offering a professional experience from application through hiring.
  • Ensure consistent, clear, and timely communication with candidates at all stages.
  • Provide an exceptional experience by setting clear expectations and offering a transparent process.
Sourcing, Recruiting, Interviewing and Selection
  • Assist with planning and execution of college, high school, and community recruiting initiatives.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial screens, and manage interviews.
  • Conduct interviews and provide documented notes.
  • Partner with hiring managers to make informed hiring decisions.
  • Evaluate and select candidates in a timely manner.
  • Oversee maintenance of job postings and recruitment signage.
  • Promote the company's brand and culture to potential hires.
  • Able to appropriately challenge norms and promote new staffing approaches.
Onboarding and New Hire Experience
  • Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
  • Assist with new Associate orientations (evening rotation required).
  • Ensure new hires feel informed and prepared for their first day.
  • Provide ongoing support during transition into the company.
Metrics and Reporting
  • Monitor key recruitment metrics including time-to-fill and retention.
  • Continuously refine strategies based on feedback and data.
  • Collaborate with business partners to forecast staffing needs.
About you
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume recruiting, preferably retail.
  • Strong commitment to candidate experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with ATS and job boards.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to travel between locations.
