Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of People and Culture, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for talent acquisition, administration of HR tasks, benefits administration and payroll, and employee engagement activities. Additionally, the HR Generalist will coordinate the President’s calendar. This position will partner with department leaders and the executive team to ensure alignment with company values and goals as well as ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures.
PrincipleResponsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring and onboarding of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to payroll, benefits, and leave as well as recognition and morale.
- Processes semi-monthly payroll.
- Administers company benefits, including new hire and open enrollment, insurance payments and reconciliations, and answers general employee questions.
- Coordinates company events including annual employee appreciation party, quarterly all-hands meetings, and other events/employee morale activities.
- Assists with coordination of employee travel and reimbursements.
- Under the direction of the Director of People and Culture, maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Works with the Training Administrator to review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, such as new hire orientation, anti-harassment training and professional licensure.
- Assist in coordination of the President’s calendar, including scheduling and coordination of meetings and travel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information internally and externally through effective communication.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to build relationships, both internally and externally; strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Operates with high integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ensures ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to business and employment law.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software; experience with Rippling HRIS preferred.
- Thorough understanding of recordkeeping laws as it pertains to Human Resources and Payroll recordkeeping.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible Human Resources or related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
- HR certification preferred (PHR or SHRM-CP).
- Complete all required training as assigned.
Job Responsibilities

- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds with the ability to push, pull, bend, reach, and sit.

- Ability to work in a high intensity/fast paced work environment and be able to multi-task and prioritize.
