In the role of Area HR Manager we’ll count on you to support HR processes, partners and employees to ensure fair and consistent interpretation of HDR policies and procedures, manage employee relations, and contribute to HDR’s strategic objectives.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide assistance to Area Managers/Managing Principals with the fair and consistent interpretation and application of HDR policies and procedures, including those of moderate complexity. Consult with the Regional HR Director as needed.
- Provide assistance to employees regarding the fair and consistent interpretation of HDR policies and procedures.
- Conduct the intake and complete the investigation of employee relations issues and provide recommendations for resolution to Area Managers/Managing Principals. Inform employees of outcome and recommended course of action.
- Consult with Regional Human Resources Director, Area Managers/Managing Principals on performance management and behavioral concerns including assistance with drafting corrective action and performance improvement documents.
- May assist in legal and compliance matters, such as lawsuits and audits.
- Consult, coordinate and manage reductions in force and terminations of employment with the Regional Human Resources Director and Area Manager/Managing Principal, Regional Operations Director, as needed.
- Manage the ADA accommodation process with counsel from the Regional Human Resources Directors.
- Help facilitate leaves of absence.
- Ensure Human Resources procedures and activities align with federal, state, local regulations and ethical practices.
- Help facilitate the annual performance conversation review process for maximum participation.
- Coordinate with the Regional Human Resources Director to present HR related training programs within area as needed.
- Oversee the completion of employee paperwork to the corporate office.
- Support the implementation of HDR's strategic plan.
- May supervise Human Resources or administrative staff as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assist with building upon current practices to institute best-in-class efforts to promote equity and inclusion at all levels of the company.
- Focus on driving and supporting an inclusive work environment and on integrating diversity and equity into everyday business.
- Assist with diversity, equity and inclusion functions and positive initiatives.
- Create the affirmative action plan for your office(s) and engage staff in activities in support of the plan.
- Partner with Recruiting, hiring managers and HR Manager on select recruitment activities.
- Coordinate with recruiters on identification of alternative positions for staff faced with potential layoff due to lack of work.
- Partner with members of the recruitment team on driving educational based efforts to incorporate consistent usage of the recruitment tools and processes at a local level.
- Work with the Corporate Mobility and Immigration team on mobility and immigration matters.
- Partner with the Corporate Compensation and Benefit team to handle complex compensation and benefit matters such as leave of absences, benefit and compensation.
- Assist the leadership with personnel administration, salary plans, and other special reports.
- Certifications focused in human resources (examples: PHR, SPHR, SHRM Certified Professional).
- A minimum of eight years related progressive experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive internal relationships and be a team player.
