Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist position will provide full-cycle HR and payroll support to employees and management of both ATD and NCS as directed by the Human Resource Manager. This position will support the accounting department as a backup role to fill in as necessary
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience with a focus on Human Resources.
- Minimum 2-5 years of progressive HR experience; generalist capacity preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Federal and State employment law.
- Experience in payroll software (Quick Books Intuit experience a plus).
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources and payroll processing.
- General knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
Comprehension/Communication skills:
- Ability to establish a team atmosphere through leadership and employee development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including phone and e-mail etiquette.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Initial point of contact for all employees.
- Full phase recruiting for all positions.
- Full cycle onboarding and new hire orientation.
- Weekly payroll processing including tax and 401(k) reporting.
- Time off administration.
- Employee terminations.
- Benefit administration includes open enrollment, initial enrollment, benefit reconciliation, and resolving benefit issues.
- FMLA administration
- Workers Compensation administration including but not limited to accident injury investigation, claim reporting, annual audit, and maintaining OSHA logs.
- Provide employee relations support for performance management, compensation, benefits, training, and conflict resolution.
- Perform company wide training related to HR matters.
- Maintain employee handbook and job descriptions.
- Ensures compliance and advises both employees and managers on all policies, relevant laws, rules and regulations.
- Provide back-up support for the accounting department as needed.
- Review any inefficiencies and cost-savings and make improvements as needed.
- Maintain HR and payroll files and record retention per recommended record retention guidelines.
