The HR Generalist III is responsible for running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring, interviewing, benefits and enforcing company policies and practices. This role partners with plant leadership to deliver a high-performance culture, promoting ownership, goal attainment and continuous learning at all levels.
Job OverviewProvide customer service support to employees by responding to inquiries, delivering policy information, processing requests and updating HR systems while ensuring efficient delivery of customer service at the plant.
Responsibilities- Provide daily HR support to manufacturing employees maintaining positive employee relations and engagement.
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand required skills and competencies.
- Prepare offer letters and new hire packages; conduct new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibilities.
- Assist with college internship program including campus recruiting, onboarding, coordination of events, and presentation.
- Organize and lead employee wellness and engagement activities.
- Coordinate performance review programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity.
- Work with Plant Leadership on all job description changes and compensation.
- Provide clear communication of policies and procedures to ensure a customer driven environment.
- Provide advice and counsel to management on employee relations matters; ensure appropriate support and guidance.
- Support managers with timekeeping and attendance programs to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with other HR business partners and functional partners (Legal, Finance, IT) to deliver HR support/services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or Management is preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant HR experience (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of HR experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Exceptional judgment and common sense; ability to make sound decisions and develop employee-centric solutions.
- Ability to conduct difficult conversations with tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Union experience helpful but not required.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
