At Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre, we have an immediate opening for a Banquet Manager! If you are an experienced and dynamic individual with a passion for motivation and committed to the execution of a spectacular event, we want you!

• Hire, train, lead, and motivate team members in the Banquet Department to ensure that staff receive adequate resources, guidance and adhere to service standards through strong talent engagement.
• Schedule appropriate staffing level for functions to maintain labour costs for department.
• Play a key role in performance management through ongoing coaching, development through the performance appraisal process, and progressive disciplinary process.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships within all operational departments and outside vendors to ensure that all function specifications are communicated and executed appropriately.
• Ensure all function setups and breakdowns are implemented correctly, efficiently and expeditiously.
• Manage complaints professionally and take corrective actions to ensure highest level of guest satisfaction.
• Complete all required reports, authorizations, invoices and billings for function and send to appropriate personnel. Complete and submit gratuities sheet as well as labour report to payroll for staff.
• Make recommendations to improve the efficiency and quality of services and products provided by banquets.

• Post-secondary education in Tourism and Hospitality preferred.
• 2-3 years’ experience in a banquet supervisor/banquet manager capacity.
• Able to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Effective communication, listening, and people skills.
• Excellent time management, and multi-tasking skills with an eye for detail.
• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
