SummaryThe Head Golf Professional is responsible for ensuring the standard of quality golf services and experiences to Club Members and Resort guest. He/she is also responsible for overseeing daily golf operations and supervision of the golf staff.
Duties & Functions- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manne
- Ensure elevated Membership and Golf experiences commensurate with CVR standards
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with CVRstandards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the resort
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working - Comply at all times with CVRstandards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient golf operations
- Maintain a warm friendly demeanor at all times
• Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow employees - Provide professional golf instruction for members and guests as requested
- Respond to all guest and member requests, problems, or complaints in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure satisfaction
- Assist with development of employee morale and ensure training of golf personnel
- Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments
- Ensure implementation of all CVRpolicies and house rules
- Assist and supervise golf employees on a daily basis and ensure all SOP's are being followed properly
- Train new employees, help to develop and implement training programs
- Authorize and sign adjustments and refunds
- Confirm that all duties are completed by golf staff
- Maintain golf shop presence during peak times and as need
- Ensure correct and accurate cash handling
- Ensure that employees are attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and other employees
- Motivate, coach, counsel, discipline and evaluate performance of all golf personnel
- Assist in preparing and conducting all golf personnel interviews and following hiring procedures according to CVR SOP's. Actively support Human Resources with recruiting efforts
- Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Prepare employee schedules according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements
- Review staff's worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to Accounting on a timely basis
- Maintain CVRSOP's regarding purchase orders, vouchering of invoices and checkbook accounting
- Oversee and ensure success of all tournaments and special events
- Marginal:
- Assist retail manager as needed
- Provide CPR/First Aid as necessary
- Conduct meetings according to CVRstandards
- Attend meetings and training as required by management
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- At least 3 years of progressive experience on a golf course or a related field preferred
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Must have valid driver's license for the applicable state
Physical Requirements:
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work –Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Mental Requirements:
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
• Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
• Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
• Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
• Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity
