REQThe Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability (WIES) at the University of Southern California (USC) seeks a dependable and motivated individual to serve as a Hospitality Attendant at the Wrigley Marine Science Center (WMSC) on Catalina Island. This position is located on the island and reports to the Hospitality Manager.
** Job Details
** This position contributes to the smooth operation of WMSC’s housing and dining facilities by providing housekeeping and kitchen support. The role focuses primarily on dishwashing and meal service, with additional housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for visiting students and researchers.
** Major Responsibilities:
*** Wash and correctly store utensils, glassware, dishware, and kitchen tools.
* Clean pots, pans, and other cooking equipment by hand following proper sanitation procedures.
* Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas and kitchen equipment.
* Provide custodial services such as dusting, scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, polishing, and mopping of assigned dorms and guest rooms.
* Handle linen service, including washing, drying, sorting, and folding.
* Sort and remove trash and garbage to designated dumpsters.
* Assist with food preparation, meal service, and dining hall cleanup as directed.
* Follow proper safety and hygiene practices, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
* Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment.
* An interest in environmentalism or sustainability is a plus!

* Minimum Qualifications:

*** Minimum Experience and Field of Expertise: up to 1 year of experience in food service and/or custodial work
* Ability to read labels and internal memoranda
* Strong customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
* Commitment to positive communication and cooperation with coworkers and guests.

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Previous kitchen, custodial or grounds maintenance experience/skilled in use of cleaning products
* Current unrestricted California Driver’s License
* Valid California Food Handler’s Permit

* Schedule:

** This position typically follows a four-day workweek, Wednesday - Saturday, with 10-hour shifts (approximately 6:30 a.m.–9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.). Some weeks may include shorter 8-hour shifts depending on operational needs. The schedule will flex based on assignment. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position and is eligible for overtime pay.

** Hourly range:
** The hourly rate range for this position is $19.10 - $20.29. ** Housing and Living Arrangements:
** You are eligible for private or shared housing in Two Harbors staff housing, owned and operated by USC. In the town of Two Harbors there is a small general store, restaurant/bar, dive shop, snack shack, bed and breakfast, etc. It is a small town with a tight-knit community. USC employees carpool to work (USC's campus is two miles from Two Harbors) each day.

Lunch is available each day in the dining hall, or employees can take the carpool home for their lunch break.
