As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) at John

C. Fremont Healthcare District, you will assess, treat, and manage patients with deficiencies and abnormalities in the cardiopulmonary system. You will perform diagnostic testing, administer respiratory treatments, and provide critical support in emergency interventions. This role also involves consulting with physicians, providing education and direction to staff, and ensuring that respiratory care is delivered safely and effectively according to District policies, department protocols, and regulatory standards.

• Perform standard and complex diagnostic tests, including arterial blood gases and EKGs.
• Administer prescribed respiratory treatments, including medicinal gases and aerosolized medications.
• Perform arterial punctures, blood gas analyses, and tracheobronchial suctioning.
• Provide tracheotomy care and assist physicians with intubation and ventilator management.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and respond to emergency codes.
• Set up and operate respiratory therapy equipment safely and accurately.
• Monitor telemetry when required due to staffing or operational needs.
• Maintain accurate patient and departmental records, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and infection control policies.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families.
