Location: Kansas City

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Telemetry position requiring a compact or MO RN license and 2 years of recent specialty experience.

Job Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a patient ratio of 1:5,

• Care for adult patients with cardiac, neuro, endocrine/metabolic, gastrointestinal, renal, orthopedic, plastic, and respiratory conditions,

• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-cardiac procedures, IV therapy, central line care, and wound care,

• Night shifts (3x12 hours), 18:45-07:15 with required weekend shifts (8 weekend shifts per 6-week period),

• Regular floating required to all MS/Tele, neuro stepdown, ER holding, and within all MSI units based on facility need,

• Epic EMR system used, with pre-start EMR modules required,

Job Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration,

• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required,

• Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience in PCU or related Tele areas, with at least 1 year in specialty within the past 12 months and no employment gap over 90 days in the past year,

• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, administer IV therapies, and operate cardiac monitoring equipment,

• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor (within the past year),

• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility,

• Pending licenses are not accepted,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position,

• Responsibilities include post-procedure cardiac patient care, handling emergencies, administering medications including cardiac drips, and managing complex multi-system patients,

• Holiday shifts and charge nurse assignments may be required as needed by the unit,

• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed,

• Drug screening and completion of required modules are part of the pre-employment process,

• Pre-start and orientation modules, including Epic, infusion pump and glucometer training, must be completed before starting,

• No local candidates accepted (must reside more than 75 miles away),

• No travel partners accepted for this assignment,

• Tenure policy requires at least a 3-month break in service after 18 months in a travel role at this facility,
