Overview

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, the Therapist completes clinical assessments and provides individual, child, family, and group therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy services to children and families. The position requires independent judgment and discretion while emphasizing evidence‑based practices (EBPs) and maintaining client‑service delivery goals.

Programs
  • Intensive Behavioral Health: Services for children and youth (0–21) with Medi‑Cal insurance, including 24/7 crisis support, individual/family counseling, community resource assistance, psychiatric services, medication support, and care delivered in home, school, telehealth, or office settings.
    • Full Service Partnership (FSP) – supports children/youth engaged in risky behaviors.
    • Intensive Field Clinical Capable Services (IFCCS) – supports children/youth in the child welfare system experiencing multiple home placement changes.
    • Wraparound – supports families involved with child welfare or probation.
  • Non‑Intensive Services: Mental health services for young children (0–5) and school‑aged children.
    • Birth to 5 – supports families with babies and young children, offering developmental information and relational activities.
    • School‑Aged – short‑term counseling for school‑aged children and adolescents, delivered in home, school, community sites, or telemedicine.
  • Additional Programs: Culturally Informed and Flexible Family‑Based Treatment for Adolescents (CIFFTA) – outpatient treatment for youth ages 11–18 focusing on conduct problems, depression, school failure, family conflict, delinquency, drug use, and risky sexual behavior.
Essential Duties
  • Gather information, assess needs, and provide direct clinical services using evidence‑based practices.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, records, and periodic reports.
  • Achieve and exceed client service delivery goals.
  • Develop and implement clinical assessment and treatment plans.
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary team, supervisee clinical supervision, CQI, and QA processes.
  • Provide therapy at home or other client locations as needed.
Additional Duties
  • Maintain knowledge of service standards, policies, licensing, and state regulations.
  • Continuously update professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and in‑service programs.
  • Assist with special projects and assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience working with low‑income children and families (preferred).
  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work.
  • Spanish/English bilingual proficiency (required).
  • Valid driver’s license and state‑required auto insurance.
  • Extensive travel required ( > 50% of the time ).
  • Proficiency in Windows, EHR, and computer software.
  • Current Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) registration.
  • Ability to produce documentation in standard English.
  • Confidentiality, PHI security, and privacy compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; punctual and dependable.

Computer Skills
  • Windows environment proficiency.
  • Electronic Health Records System knowledge.

Compensation

$73,601.00 USD – $85,469.00 USD (California law). New hires receive salary at the starting point of the range, with internal equity and future growth potential.
