Referral Coordinator
Willamette Valley Cancer Institute is looking to add a detail-oriented and proactive Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless coordination of patient care and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain excellent communication with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
Pay Scale
: $20.00-$34.03 (actual rate dependent on experience, education, location, performance, etc.)

- Efficiently send and follow up on referrals to specialists, hospice care, home health services, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals as required.
- Coordinate and track all durable medical equipment (DME) orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Handle and monitor prior authorizations for consultations and medications, ensuring all necessary paperwork and approvals are obtained.
- Assist with Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Paid Leave of Absence (PLO) paperwork, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and external services to facilitate smooth operations and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare software systems and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Previous experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
