Overview

Registered Dietitian for Great SNF in St Louis, MO at NHC Health Care Maryland Heights. We are seeking an energetic, motivated, positive PT Registered Dietitian to join our team. The Registered Dietitian will work alongside our FT RD to provide guidance to the Director of Dietary, Dietary Manager, and the staff of the Dietary Department to ensure the nutritional status of all patients/residents is assessed accurately and to plan approaches to improve status if needed.

The Registered Dietitian will work on MDSs, Care Plans, and work closely with the dietary manager to ensure patient needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to the Director of Dietary, Dietary Manager, and staff to ensure accurate assessment of the nutritional status of patients/residents and to plan interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate on MDS assessments and Care Plans; coordinate with the dietary manager to meet patient needs.
  • Work with the dietary team to ensure high-quality nutrition care in the SNF setting.
Qualifications
  • Must have a sincere interest in geriatric nutrition and enjoy working with geriatric and other healthcare patients.
  • At least one year’s experience in clinical dietetics is very helpful, but not essential; experience of the Dietetic Internship or similar training is expected.
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply nutrition principles to assess nutritional status and plan care for all patients.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Good mental and physical condition.
  • Leadership qualities and ability to secure cooperation of the Food and Nutrition Services partners.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and productively with all departments following established center policies.
  • Thorough knowledge of dietary management, safety/sanitation, food production, and nutrition principles.
  • Willingness to fulfill responsibilities, be at work on time and during scheduled shifts.
  • May be required to have or obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate or Sanitation Course, as required by state regulations.
  • May be required to be licensed and/or certified as a dietitian as required by specific state guidelines.
