Per Diem Telemetry Technician-Med Surg Telemetry (Bldg3)-Day Shift
Location: Fountain Valley, CA |
Pay Range: $22.89-$33.18 per hour
The Telemetry Monitor Technician monitors and accurately interprets cardiac rhythms of patients on telemetric equipment. They provide continuous observation, identify basic arrhythmias, and promptly notify the RN or Physician of changes or dysrhythmia as they occur. The technician troubleshoots false alarms and system/equipment issues, documents values, and mounts rhythm strips according to unit standards. They also provide continuous observation of patients undergoing special procedures.
Responsibilities• Accurately interpret cardiac rhythms of patients on telemetry equipment.
• Monitor patients continuously and identify basic arrhythmias.
• Promptly notify nursing or physicians of changes or dysrhythmia.
• Troubleshoot false alarms and system or equipment issues.
• Document values and mount rhythm strips per unit standards.
• Observe patients during special procedures when they are being monitored.
Required Qualifications- Minimum one year of experience monitoring cardiac activity.
- Electrocardiography (ECG) Certification by time of hire.
- Availability to work weekends and rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and holidays.
