Job Summary
Peak Sport and Spine is looking for a Physical Therapy Technician for their West County location. The Physical Therapy Technician position will have responsibility for assisting the Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant and/or Business Office Manager with daily patient physical therapy treatment and office tasks. The PT Tech will provide assistance with patient care based on instructions by the PT or PTA, assist the PT in patient education services, maintain and update patient case files, and support the Business Office with scheduling, filing, answering phones, copying, and patient authorizations.
Responsibilities- Assist with clinical tasks utilizing skills which have been certified or trained by the P.T. and are not considered P.T. skilled activities as defined by the state licensing agency.
- Maintain linen supply in facility.
- Organize and clean equipment and supplies needed for treatments.
- Straighten and maintain physical order in department.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with patients and all other customers within the facility or over the phone.
- Monitor supply inventory and report reorder needs to Supervisor.
- Report need for equipment repairs to Supervisor.
- Provide necessary educational services and participate in facility in‑service activities.
- Work to ensure a safe and clean facility, including physical plant and equipment maintenance and supply inventory upkeep.
- Assume any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Director or Administrator of Physical Therapy and/or the Business Office Manager.
- Perform business office tasks as assigned by the Business Office Manager, including answering phones, scheduling and admitting patients, authorizing insurance, filing, copying, faxing, and assisting with co‑payments.
High School diploma required; college hours preferred and/or healthcare training. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with patients, patient family members, insurance companies and physicians. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to accurately document information for billing purposes. Computer experience in Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing preferred.
