The California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) invites applications for the position of Recreation Therapist, Correctional Facility (CF) at High Desert State Prison (HDSP), Susanville, Lassen County, CA.
Pay & LocationBase pay range: $9,159.00 – $9,903.00 (per state schedule). The role is located in Susanville, Lassen County, CA and may be limited‑term, potentially becoming permanent.
Job Description and Duties- Develop, implement, and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs for incarcerated individuals.
- Instruct and motivate patients in individual and group recreation therapy.
- Monitor and document treatment progress and collaborate with other health‑care providers to incorporate recreational activities into treatment plans.
- Maintain order and supervise patients to protect safety of persons and property.
- Under the general supervision of the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (CF) or Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF.
- Graduation from an accredited college with a major in recreation or recreation therapy that includes supervised field work.
- Ability to present evidence of graduation or equivalent and completion of required field work.
